Mammatus Clouds at Sunset - Kimball, NB
Mammatus clouds (cumulonimbus mammatus) at sunset near Kimball, Nebraska. Mammatus are breast-shaped parcels of sinking cloudy air, sometimes seen on the underneath side of a thunderstorm anvil. Although they may look ominous, they are usually seen on the trailing side of a storm, and therefore the worst weather has probably already passed by the viewer.
